  • Love the show, Mike. I’m sure many folk will keep the faith and spread
the word. Looking forward to seeing you at the Brindley Runcorn in
2013. A happy and successful New Year.

  • Hi Mike
Really enjoyed the show, listened this morning. Well done for
maintaining cool during the opening glitches! I’m sort of a blast from
your past; I used to play as a 17 year old wannabe at the Cross Keys
in Uppermill a very long time ago…first time I saw you play live,
and I’ve been a fan ever since. I play mandolin these days in a
Bluegrass/Americana band called the Slippery Hill Boys, and I was
hoping you’d have a listen. We have a CD out called Gathering Speed,
and a website at http://www.slipperyhill.co.uk . The CD is available for
sampling on Amazon or iTunes, but I could send a hard copy if you
    like. links to Amazon at
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=ntt_srch_drd_B008P12WTS?ie=UTF8&field-keywords=The%20Slippery%20Hill%20Boys&index=digital-music&search-type=ss
Looking forward to the show next week! Have a great New Year. Tim

  • Great show, but some operational bugs, I think. I’m running an Apple
    iMac and Safari browser, btw.

No “fast forward” option on the site? Means that if I want to go back
to the show after an interruption, or to find a particular piece, I
need to listen from the start again.

When I access the show from my iPad, I get the “Airplay” symbol, which
I can click to set which speakers around the house I want to play
stuff through. However, nothing happens when I select remote speakers.
The show plays on the iPad only. Tried it a few minutes later with
streamed stuff on other web sites, and all worked fine, but not your
    show.

Suggestion. The list of tracks played is always useful. Why not turn
the listing into a set of links, either so that listeners can go to a
particular track they want to play or return to, or a set of links,
say, to the artists’ web sites, places the track can be bought, and so
    on?

    Cheers,

    Tom

  • Hi Mike, just listened to your first show and have to say it was
absolutely brilliant 100% better than the BBC program you used to do
despite the initial hiccups. Would you consider including some Morris
music in a future show?, in particular anything by Simon Care who we
have seen several times with the Albion Christmas Band, my wife and I
think he is fantastic. Tell me, The Seven Drunken Nights by The
Dubliners, are there actually seven verses because we have never heard
verses six and seven, maybe you could remedy this. Cheers Mike,
looking forward to next weeks show. All the best mate, Geoff.

  • Hi, trying to send a message but it keeps throwing me out at the
Captcha Code stage. I’ve refreshed to get a different code but it
doesn’t recognise it. Keep getting “Are you Sure”!
    This was my message:
    Hi Mike

Enjoying your podcast – I was one of the many who couldn’t get through
    yesterday!

You’ve asked for new artistes and I’d like to recommend a very
talented young man – Pierre Vincent. His website is
    http://www.pierrevincent.co.uk/

He’s not signed up with anyone and I think he quite likes it that way
but it would be great if he could get more recognition. Many of the
people playing with you at The Canterbury Tales recently know him
well. I saw Rosie’s photos and wished I’d been there too.

Happy New Year to you and looking forward to listening to you for many
    more to come.
    xx

  • Hi Mike,

Very well done on getting your new show up and running – am very much
    enjoying it!

I think your personal email address is in my media list to receive all
news releases from Iconic but is there a new one/particular one for
the show that you would like me to send press release to?

Email me as a bove or drop me a message on Facebook and I will make
sure your show is kept in the loop about everything we work for.

Coming up very soon is the Fairport winter tour – so plase check their
    dates here
    http://www.fairportconvention.com/gigs.php

and if there is a date close to you that you would like to go to just
let me know and I will sort guest tickets for you.

Keep the folk roots and acoustic flag flying

    Much love

    Stevie xx

  • Hi Mike, congratulations on the new online show. You can’t keep a good
    man down!

I don’t know whether the ‘new’ Pavlov’s Cat album ‘At the Races’ ever
got through the Smooth Operations filter to you. I’d be delighted to
send you a copy if you let me know where.

    Cheers – James

  • This shows what can be acheived without the constraints of the BBC
and/or Smooth Operations, what a brilliant programme, well done Mike.
