  • Sir Mike. Thank you for playing the best (in my humble opinion) Folk songs and Tunes Some make me cry and some make me laugh, Relistening to old podcasts got to no. 160 and WOW! Thanks again for letting me hear music that otherwise i would be sadly missing.

  • Listening in mid Wales. Finally decided to catch up with this after last Costa del Folk

  • Loved it !! Very interesting

  • Thanks for pointing out the “American Epic” programmes, for those in the UK they are still available on iPlayer for a little while. Some really fine music there, though the stories are at least as important.

Also worth catching, if/when they are repeated, are the three “Wayfaring Stranger” programmes with Phil Cunningham which looks at the musical connections between Scotland, Ulster and America.

  • Just found this.
    Listening in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire.

  • Greetings from a dual British/French national in France!

I love listening to your podcast when running. A real gem and a showcase for some fine music.

    Long may it continue!

  • If it weren’t for you I wouldn’t have heard of the passing of the great ‘Smoggy’ Vin Garbutt. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t have become familiar with “City of Angels”, Slaggy Island, “Dark Side of the Moon”, and many others. He’ll be teaching the ‘Angels’ to play tin whistle I’m sure.

  • wow ! This is super!!

  • far and away the best folk show in the known world.
a couple of ralphs rags woulnt go amiss.
