  • I’ve listened regularly to the show since it started, and have been following your good self – together with the rest of my family – since I was seven. Many thanks for all the great music and very best of luck with the next chapter.

  • I would like to thank you most sincerely for your wonderful show over the last five years. It will be dearly missed. I’ve listened to every one since your departure from BBC and have thoroughly enjoyed them all.
Thank you again and good luck for the future.

  • Thanks Mike for 5 years of amazing music. I’ll miss your voice and quirky sense of humour. You are on of the few podcasters that I know who could balance the playing of great music, tradition, and innovation. You always reminded me that music is by and for people. I will never forget a sunny Dunday in Toronto a few years back. I was returning from visiting my mom in hospital. I was depressed and gloomy. I rode my bicycle back through Queen’s park downtown with my phone in my shirt pocket. Through the miracle of time difference and the internet, I had your show playing – not on headphones but on the speaker. Gradually the music lifted me and I could see as I passed people that they smiled at the sound too.
If you ever come through Toronto or Ontario send an email. Thanks again, ever so much.

  • Thanks a lot Mike – it’s been a great enjoyment and education to all of us

  • Many thanks for many hours of folk music enjoyment over the past five years. I’ve only just listened to your last show so I’m a bit late sending this. All the best in your musical – and other – lives!

  • So sad to hear you are finished with your folk show, but so glad to have shared in the journey and enjoy all the music, guests, and your own comments and perspectives. I will miss these weekly contributions from you and wish you all the best. God bless Mike.

Perhaps down the road we can find a way to meet up and play some banjo together (I have been playing off and on for over 40 years).

  • Sorry to hear the sad news that you are stopping the show. I down load it regularly and its kept me going and sane for a long time now. Ill miss it dearly and I wish you all the best for the future and hope to see you performing somewhere soon.

    Very Best wishes

    Pete

  • Thanks for introducing me to some wonderful music. Your Sunday podcasts have been a weekly joy for me. I’ll miss your company , your knowledge of the music and your wonderful sense of humour.
And thanks for featuring my music ! A definite highlight for me☺️🎶.

  • So very sad to hear that was your last show, I will miss it very much. So many of my albums I have because of you Mike, where will I find all these wonderful artists you bring to our ears now, not on national radio that’s for sure. Thanks for all you have done to bring this show to us, you will be missed so much.
Many, many thanks and look after yourself.
    Cheers

  • I was very saddened to hear that you have broadcast your last show. I came to your show late but you have introduced me to many great artists and I will be forever grateful. Good luck and hope to see you somewhere down the line on this wonderful folk circuit.
